The mental health crisis among adolescents and young adults began even before the pandemic. Pre-teens and teens today struggle with overwhelming stress, anxiety and depression.
The good news is that physical activity is a great mental health intervention. Simply being on a team, on the field and working up a sweat at practice can be a healthy choice for kids.
A coach has the opportunity to do even more, though.
